Again, a shocking experience with Nokia 2.1 users where HMD Global have provided July Google Security Update without Android 10 Go edition today’s evening.

Users are awaited for Android 10 Go but don’t know why HMD Global is taking so much time. And also there was a latest announcement by Google that it will be necessary to provide Android 10 Go edition for new phones with 2GB RAM which would not fit for Nokia 2.1 as it is having just 1GB RAM and is also old .

Also, HMD Global recently provided Android 10 Go for Nokia 1 but as one of it’s earlier tweet it was supposed that it would be provided for Nokia 2.1 also with Nokia 1.

Now, there would be just wait and watch situation whether HMD Global will provide Android 10 Go or not.

Windows 1 – Release Date

This question about the date on which Windows 1.0 was released so here we are going to answer this question and also some other information related to this

So, basically it’s release date was :20/9/1985

Windows 1.0 is a graphical personal computer operating environment developed by Microsoft. Microsoft had worked with Apple Computer to develop applications for Apple’s January 1984 original Macintosh, the first mass-produced personal computer with a graphical user interface (GUI) that enabled users to see user friendly icons on screen. Windows 1.0 was released on November 20, 1985, as the first version of the Microsoft Windows line. It runs as a graphical, 16-bit multi-tasking shell on top of an existing MS-DOS installation. It provides an environment which can run graphical programs designed for Windows, as well as existing MS-DOS software. Its development was spearheaded by the company founder Bill Gates after he saw a demonstration of a similar software suite known as Visi On at COMDEX.

Google Photos App Gets Revamped Interface With Simplified Design and Map View

GooglePhotos app has received its much awaited redesign with a simpler three tab interface and a map view. The icon has also been reworked and these changes were first described on June 25 in a blog post. Now, the updated Google Photos app is live with a server-side switch and brings several changes that Google says offer a more “simplified experience”. The updated interface adds three tabs on the bottom named ‘Photos’, ‘Search’, and ‘Library. The shared content can be accessed by the “conversation” button in the top left corner of the app.

The features present in the updated Google Photos app were mentioned in the June 25 blog post by David Lieb, Product Director at Google Photos. Now, the updated app interface has made its way to both Android and iOS devices after what seems to be a server-side switch as the app was last updated on June 25.

The Google Photos app interface now has three tabs on the bottom – Photos, Search, and Library. The Photos tab contains all your photos and videos with larger thumbnails, auto-playing videos, and less white space between photos. There is also a larger Memories carousel on the top that shows content from the current week, but from several years ago.

The Search tab lets you search for people, places, and “things most important to you”. The Google Photos Library tab is where all your folders, albums, favourites, archive, and trash can be seen. The map view in the Search tab shows sort of a heat map of where in the world you have taken pictures. These can be browsed by tapping on the heat zone which then shows all the photos taken in that particular location.

Additionally, the icon for the Google Photos app has also been revamped. The sharp corners of the pin-wheel have been replaced by a rounder look and the white space in the middle has also been covered. The new icon can be seen on the Android and iOS app, however, the desktop version of Google Photos still seems to have the older design.

TikTok Goes Completely Offline in India, Says ‘It’s Complying With Government Directive’

TikTok has now completely stopped working in India. After the Indian government imposed a ban on TikTok last night, the app was delisted from Google Playand App Store both soon after. However, it continued to work for those who had it already installed on their phone. Now, the TikTok app has completely stopped working on all devices, including the desktop website, and a user notice is displayed inside the app to inform users about the ban. Alongside, TikTok, 58 other Chinese apps have also been banned in the country.

The TikTok app now shows a network error alongside a notice that reads, “Dear users, we are in the process of complying with the Government of India’s directive to block 59 apps. Ensuring the privacy and security of all our users in India remains our utmost priority.” The app now does not load new recommended videos, and instead shows a network error. The block seems to be done proactively by the company, to comply with the government directives, as a very similar notice on the Tiktok website has been signed off as TikTok India Team. The same notification was also sent to app users as a push notification.

The website has a message informing users of the ban, and notes that the developers are ‘working with the government to better understand the issue and explore a course of action.’ At the time of writing, both the app and the website were completely down.

TikTok, Mi Community, Shareit, other 56 Chinese apps banned in India: What happens if you have them on phone

India on Monday evening banned 59 Chinese apps. It is a significant move that comes in the middle of India’s trouble with China at its border where Chinese soldiers have occupied some Indian territory. The list of the banned apps has popular apps like TikTok, Mi Community, DU Battery Saver and Shareit and others. To see the full list of the apps, please check this.

So what happens next?

Next, the banned apps are likely to be removed from the Google Play Store and the Apple iOS APP Store as soon as the two companies are given a copy of the order by the government. We have asked both Google and Apple to understand what the two companies will do next.

Apple has told Tech with Prakalp that “Once the government order comes in, the apps will be removed from India App Store because it is required by the law.” We are still waiting to hear from Google, although chances are that the banned Chinese apps will be soon removed from the India Play Store for Android because a few months ago when an India court ordered against TikTok the app was removed.

But what happens if the banned app is already on your phone?

In India, banned apps like TikTok have hundreds of millions of users. Many other apps too are extremely popular.

Chances are that the banned will stop working soon because not only India is banning these apps but also going to block them. Here is what the IT Ministry said in its statement:

“The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs has also sent an exhaustive recommendation for blocking of these malicious apps… the government of India has decided to disallow the usage of (these) apps.”

The blocking of the apps is going to be done by blocking the apps on networks, which are 4G and wired internet connections managed and operated companies like Airtel and Jio.

Once the apps are blocked at the network level, they will stop working unless a user decides to utilise a VPNs.

Currently, the government hasn’t said anything about whether people are supposed to use these apps or if using them is going to be illegal. But effectively, the government through its order makes it clear that it doesn’t want TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps in India or on the phones of Indian users.

YouTube likely to come up with TikTok-like short video platform

YouTube is all set to come up with a new feature that would take on the popular short video platform, TikTok. The Google-owned video platform is testing a new feature on its app which would let users create and post a 15-second video on the app, pretty similar to the Bytedance-owned short video app. YouTube is currently experimenting with the feature and there can be a mass rollout only when the testing is over. Back in April, it was first reported that YouTube is working on the TikTok-like app.

Youtube announced testing the feature on its support website. “We’re testing out a new way for creators to easily record multiple clips directly in the YouTube mobile app and upload as one video. If you’re in this experiment, you’ll see an option to ‘create a video’ in the mobile upload flow. Tap or hold the record button to record your first clip, then tap again or release the button to stop recording that clip. Repeat these steps until you’re done capturing footage up to a maximum length of 15 seconds. If you’d like to upload a longer video, you’ll still be able to do so by uploading from your phone gallery instead of recording through the app. We’re starting these experiments on mobile (both Android and iOS) with a small group of people while we gather feedback.”

Not much has been divulged about the upcoming app by YouTube. There is no clarity on whether the app would get filters and music support like TikTok. Users can post through the YouTube app and it would be made available for both Android and iOS users. So far only limited users have received the feature and only when the team is done testing the app, it would be made available for the larger audience.
